A regional consultation meeting of South East Asian (SEA) countries on “Action Plan for Promoting Oral Health & Surveillance in the South-East Asia Region” was organized on 22nd-23rd October 2014, in which 7 countries; Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, Mynmar, Nepal, Thailand and India participated. Director of WHO-CC on Oral Health Promotion in Japan Dr. Miyazaki also attended in the meeting. Professors of Public Health Dentistry from 8 dental colleges, Public Health experts, representatives from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, WHO-Searo and CDER faculty participated in the meeting. The objective of the meeting was to adopt the surveillance tools for NCDs developed by WHO to Oral Health which can be used across SEA countries.
