One the occasion of 60th Institute Day of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences a public exhibition was organized(24-26 Sep, 2015). This Exhibition themed ‘Be Clean - Be Healthy’ was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Shri J.P. Nadda. Centre for Dental Education & Research proactively participated in this exhibition. The Health Minister visited the CDER stall and appreciated the efforts.
Various activities were conducted during this exhibition by CDER-AIIMS:
Educative and motivating posters and banners were displayed for oral health promotion. An educative video was displayed to generate awareness regarding oral diseases and to promote good oral health.
Correct Brushing technique and use of various oral hygiene aids was demonstrated to the visitors.
In order to instil a positive attitude towards oral health, specially designed badges were put up and stickers were freely distributed among the children visiting the exhibition.
Caries risk was estimated and graphically demonstrated to the visitors using a Cariogram. It was used to show the risk for developing new caries in the future and also chances to avoid new caries in the near future. It helped visitors to understand the multifactorial aspects of dental caries.
In order to promote good oral hygiene habits, various oral healthcare products were freely distributed to the visitors of the exhibition.
Oral health promotion activities like Best Smile contest and Dental Quiz were conducted and winners were suitably rewarded.
