Chief, Centre for Dental Education and Research
⇒National Centre of Excellence for Implementation of National Oral Health Programme
⇒WHO Collaborating Centre for Oral Health Promotion
It is a matter of great honor and pride for the Centre for Dental Education and Research to get all the distinction and recognition from two top most National and International agencies on Health - Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and World Health Organization respectively.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recognized CDER as the National Centre of Excellence for Implementation of National Oral Health Programme and WHO recognized CDER as WHO-CC for Oral Health Promotion. Both these recognition endorses the academic strength and leadership role of CDER in various oral health related issues.
Another important implication of these two recognitions is the importance of Oral Health, due to several reasons; oral diseases are wide spread and universal, its impact on general health, social wellbeing and quality of life and the economic burden on the society and nations. The only solution to this wide spread oral disease burden is a total shift required from a purely curative and therapeutic approach to disease prevention and health promotive approach.
The entire team of dedicated faculty members of the Centre for Dental Education and Research at AIIMS is committed to improve the oral health of the masses in India and in South East Asia Region by forging alliances with National and International experts and various agencies working in the field of Oral Health.
